Workshops

Every week, the library offers free workshops open to all students, staff, and faculty. There's no sign-up required, just come to the library at or before the scheduled start time. Learn about print and online resources, discover new research strategies, and hone your academic skills.

This month's calendar

The workshop schedule changes every month. Click on a session to find out more about it, or download the print-friendly calendar for a description. A text-only agenda for screen readers appears after the calendar.

  • "But it's not Wikipedia!" Evaluating Web Sources: Develop strategies for finding and selecting the best online resources.
  • APA made easy: Work on in-text citations and references pages.
  • Meet your databases: Learn about NC LIVE databases and how to find the articles you need quickly and efficiently.

Agenda for screen readers

  • "But it's not Wikipedia!" sessions will be held:
    • Every Monday at noon
    • Every Wednesday at 3 p.m.
    • Tuesday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m.
  • APA made easy sessions will be held:
    • Every Monday at 3 p.m.
    • Every Wednesday at 10 a.m.
    • Tuesday, April 26, at 5:30 p.m..
  • Meet your NC LIVE databases sessions will be held:
    • Every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
    • Every Thursday at 10 a.m.
    • Tuesday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m.

    If you would like to be notified of new workshops, please e-mail the library staff to that effect or make your request by phone (910-296-2519) or in person.

    Operating hours: The library is open from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday; from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday; and from 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays.

To schedule an orientation or research workshop tailored to your class, please contact Colleen Kehoe-Robinson at (910) 275-6332 or ckehoe-robinson@jamessprunt.edu at least one week in advance. You may also request a presentation in your classroom.
