Library info & services for distance learning students

All students taking online classes through JSCC – including high school students enrolled in the Career & College Promise (CCP) program – have access to the full range of resources and services offered by the library. Resources include online journal and newspaper databases, streaming video collections, e-books and audiobooks, and more – and the library staff are happy to provide research support or troubleshooting via phone or e-mail. If you're currently enrolled, you can:

Log into online resources

All library digital resources are available both on- and off-campus, 24 hours a day.

On campus
If you're at JSCC's main campus, you're automatically authenticated – no log-in required.

Off campus
When opening a database, e-book, or other resource, you'll be prompted to log into the library's proxy server. There are two authentication options:

• JSCC e-mail – log in with your e-mail address (including the domain) and current password; or,
• Library card number – enter your JSCC library card number (it's the longer barcode on the back of your student ID). Don't have a library card? Use the link above to sign up.

Depending on the link you're following, you might see a page from NC LIVE that asks you to choose your library. Select "James Sprunt Community College" from the dropdown menu, then "Next" to proceed to the proxy server login.

If you're not able to log in with your student e-mail, please report the error (Google form opens in a new window).
