Renew Materials

Learn how to locate, borrow, renew, and request books and audiovisual materials

Renew books

Avoid overdue fines by renewing your books before their due dates! You can stop by the library, call us during business hours at (910) 275-6330, or e-mail us (jscclibrary@jamessprunt.edu). You may also renew your books online* – read on to find out how.

How to renew books online

  1. Go to the library catalog (there are links throughout this site and at the top of any page).
  2. Select "My Account" from the top navigation menu.  
  3. Enter your library barcode number from your ID (starts with 24014...) and password number (please contact the library staff if you don't know your number)
  4. Go to the "Checkouts" tab
  5. Check the box next to each item that you want to renew and click the renew button. Confirm the renewal request.X show catalog screencapture indicating My Account l
  6. Remember to watch your student e-mail for overdue notices. Questions? Let us know.

* Note: many interlibrary loan books are not eligible to be renewed and will not appear under your list of borrowed items. Please be sure to return these items by the given due dates, or contact the library staff to inquire about renewals.

Logging into the catalog

  1. User ID: Library barcode number (starting with "24014" – no spaces)
  2. PIN: If you don't know your PIN, please contact the library staff.

Renew DVDs or books on CD

DVDs and books on CD are checked out for one week.

To renew beyond the initial loan, please contact the library staff directly.
